There's a rumor going around that they are going to sell their company to one of their partners probably DT. If you look at the owners history they always buy and sell companies. If I had an account with them I'd worry since you don't know who you'd will be with next.

Edgecast is a terrible CDN
I've not only heard that they are selling their company, but they have run out of money. They are trying to make headway with the reseller side but I heard that their CDN is inefficient, runs poorly, and a lot of reliability. Someone I saw had specific dates on their downtime. Plus, their owners are always selling their companies. I bet they sell to DT or Level3 by the end of the year!
Edgecast Owners always Sell their companies
Just looking at the owners history they only are in business for 3 years then sell their companies. If I had an account with them I would worry, plus I hear the owners are hard to deal with! I met some of them and they seem stuck up! They seem nice to your face...but your being duped.
Edgecast I've heard is terrible
There's a lot of rumors going around that Edgecast is selling their company, and the owners are terrible people, etc. Then, I see this ridiculous post about goblins, ok? Well, let's just put fact out there and put this all to bed. Here's the facts on Edgecast, and I'm basing this off a company that USED to resell their services. First, they had a major network issue in January that they blamed on their Data Center at CRG west. Then, they had a customer in February that had issues with query-string caching (mind you this is one of my former customers) which I know they really didn't know how to utilize until a few months before. In March, they had another major setback with their Flash Reporting, mind you it takes 30m-1hr to load simple HTTP & FMS reporting logs. The list goes on and on. I have friends in the industry that I spoke to further about Edgecast and they had similar issues especially on the dedicated hosting front, btw bet you didn't know they did that too. If you read about the owners history on their webpage, not one of them have CDN experience and that's fact, nor do any of them own companies very long. 3 years seems to be the trend, they build-out companies and they sell them. These are all facts and there is no way to look around them. We had a contract with them that ended in March, and we didn't renew. That's it. We are with Limelight right now and couldn't be happier.
I hear that EdgeCast is run by wizards and goblins
Get this fellow believers...I know a guy who had a friend who once used EdgeCast and he told my therapist who told me that EdgeCast is really staffed by a team of goblins and elves. They run around casting spells on people and their CDN is actually made of snakes and snail shells. If I had an account with them I'd use my invisibility cloak and cast a healing spell to make sure they didn't turn me off. No wonder they are so stuck up...since they are immortal and live off of the blood of small animals. If anyone wants to meet me and talk about it I'm having people over tonight from my support group so come by. We're down in the basement in my room, just tell my mom you're here to see me and she'll show you down. Long live Voldemort!
Nice one - EdgeCast rocks and everyone knows it!
I'm laughing out loud at that last post! Way to turn some bitter rant from a hater into some fun. Score one for "Real-CDN-Expert" and score negative three for "Eli", "Anon" and "John" (who are clearly all the same guy). Lets see what other BS this guy decides to write about EdgeCast...although I doubt he can come up with more creative and entertaining lies than "Wizards and Goblins run EdgeCast"!!! Hysterical!
Edgecast is terrible
I've heard they are and that the owners care less about their clients. They only want to sell the company to the highest bidder. Watch, in 12-months the company will be sold. Watch!
Edgecast Owners Don't Care About Their Clients
There's a lot of rumors going around that these owners just sell their companies after only a few years and I researched it. Yes they do! They not only do but the clients they do have with their original company soon leave after the buy-out and leave very unhappy! Looking at these owners reputations only shows that they don't care about their clients!
Edgecast Sucks
The owners don't care about their clients. They sell their companies after 3 years, always. If you don't believe me. Look at their history. All 3 of them are terrible people.
